The role of Magherafelt Arts Trust is to develop awareness, participation and appreciation of the arts. Magherafelt Arts Trust Development is a resource for information regarding arts events, funding procedures, local and national arts organisations, specific art form questions and management of arts events including festivals.

The role of the Trust also includes the enhancement of existing provision, encouragement of new and innovative work, the development of audiences for the arts as well as the provision of support and advice to local arts organisations, individuals and community groups.

As an organisation, Magherafelt Arts Trust (MAT) offers a programme of high quality events and workshops to encourage all ages to be involved in art activities. Michael Browne from MAT said:

"Magherafelt Arts Trust is the local arts development forum for the Magherafelt District, which exists to promote, support, develop and advise on art activities within the area. This year we have a fantastic line up of workshops, productions and events to encourage local people to become more involved in the arts, either as audience or participants. These include:
