NOTICE OF ELECTION OF DISTRICT COUNCILLORS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT:
- The day of election of Councillors for the District Electoral Areas of Magherafelt District Council will be THURSDAY 5th day of May 2011.
- The numbers of District Councillors to be elected for each District Electoral Area, comprised in the District Council, are as follows:

Nomination papers are to be delivered to my principal office situated at The Council Offices, 50 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6EN between the hours of 10.00 am and 4.00 pm on Monday 28th March, Tuesday 29th March, Wednesday, 30th March, Thursday, 31st March, Friday 1st April, Monday 4th April, Tuesday 5th April, Wednesday 6th April 2011 and between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 pm on Thursday 7th April 2011. Forms of nomination may be obtained at my office or from the Council's website www.magherafelt.gov.uk
- In the event of a contest, a poll will be taken on Thursday, 5th May 2011 and the hours of the poll will be from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm.
- Applications to vote by post or proxy at these elections have to be received by the appropriate Area Electoral Officer not later than 5.00 pm on Monday 11th April 2011 except where the application is made on grounds of unforeseen illness. Any such application must be received not later than 5.00 pm on Thursday 21st April 2011. All applications for postal or proxy voting should be made to:

NOTE:
Every person having a claim against the Deputy Returning Officer for any debt incurred by or on behalf of the Deputy Returning Officer for the purposes of an election shall, within forty two days after the day on which public notice is given of the result of the election, send to the Deputy Returning Officer detailed particulars in writing of such claim and the Deputy Returning Officer shall not be liable in respect of anything which is not duly stated in such particulars.
