Mission Statement

“We will provide, or enable to be provided the highest possible quality of Leisure Services to meet the needs of all the residents in the Magherafelt District Council area, and to contribute to the District’s social and economic development”.

We will achieve this by:

1. Being responsive to consumer demands and community needs by providing a wide range of leisure facilities and services to benefit the whole community, including minority groups.
2. Ensuring that all out facilities are attractive, well-maintained. safe and accessible.
3. Managing our services and facilities in an efficient and effective way, and providing value for money.
4. Co-operating with local people and groups, and with voluntary, private and local authority agents.
5. Recruiting, retaining and developing staff dedicated to providing a high quality service.
6. We will strive to maximise the use of leisure facilities and services, and expand participation in formal and informal physical recreation and cultural activities, by all sections of the community. In particular, we will seek to ensure that economic, social or physical disadvantage is not a barrier to participation and enjoyment of leisure.
7. We will enhance the positive image of the District among its residents and to its visitors, by helping to create, maintain and promote a high quality environment in which to live work and play.
