Maintenance of the Magherafelt District area

The technical services department of Magherafelt District Council is responsible for various maintenance duties.

Grounds Maintenance

Our grounds maintenance team is responsible for the maintenance of 120 sites located through the district.
These include:
Open spaces
Parks
Amenity Areas
Burial Grounds
Sports Pitches
Bowling Green
Driving Range

Services provided are:
Grass cutting
Shrub/rose pruning
Planting of spring bulbs
Tree/hedge maintenance
Marking out sports pitches
Bowling/putting green maintenance
Bonfire removal
Floral displays in towns and villages

Please note we are only responsible for grass areas adopted by or in the ownership of the Council.

We offer a free grass waste disposal facility at each of our amenity/recycling centres.

Building Maintenance

Our Building Maintenance department delivers the following services to over 230 Council owned sites throughout the district:
Minor building/construction work
Joinery work
Glazing
Painting
Tiling
Kerbing
Fencing
Play area maintenance
Erecting street furniture
Erecting Christmas lighting
Erecting bus shelters
Vandalism repairs

Vehicle Maintenance

The Council has a fleet of 38 vehicles in use by the various departments within Technical Services. These vehicles are serviced and maintained by our team of fitters at a modern purpose built facility at Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt.
