Walking

Walking Route PackFancy a stroll through breathtaking scenery along beautiful walks?

That's the reputation of walking in the Magherafelt District and the Sperrin Region.

Walking enthusiasts and amateur amblers can benefit from local walking routes throughout the district, such as Reuben's Glen, The Carntogher Way, Glenone Forest, Magherafelt Highway to Health, Tamlaght O'Crilly Nature Trail, Polepatrick Cemetery Park or Termoneeny Chapel Path. The Sperrin Mountains also provide peace and serenity - plus an array of archaeological sites.

With a range of walks to suit all levels, exploring the Magherafelt District on foot is an amazing experience for walkers- with its fascinating Stone Age tombs, ancient coach roads, standing stones and the burial places of High Kings. It really is ancient Ireland at its beautiful best!

Full details of each route are available on our new Walking Section .
