Magical moments are made on memorable days and there is plenty of those around with a great line up of fun filled events and festivals throughout the District. Talented musicians performing at music festivals, hot air balloons brightening up the skylines, international and world sporting championships, sparkling firework displays, vintage rallies, walking festivals, traditional country fairs….there really is something for everyone.
(Please note: some of the events listed below are funded by the EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation, through Magherafelt District Council and Magherafelt Area Partnership. Each will have the required accreditation.)

Laurel Villa Townhouse in Magherafelt is the setting for what promises to be another great evening of poetry on Saturday the 31st May 2008. The event, organised by Magherafelt Arts Society in association with Poetry Ireland, will feature readings by established poets Moyra Donaldson and Frank Ormsby. The readings will be followed by a buffet supper. This is the latest of a series of events designed to bring the best of poetry to the Mid Ulster Area.
